I loved the tone throughout this story, and the harsh light of reality you shined on such vivid details such as the ugly granny-square afghan and the hideous furniture. The tinsel on the indoor brick pillar from two Christmases ago. The drug house AND the proto-mcMansion!
That feeling of relaxation on the porch, combined with the indoor reality of early-adult just-getting-started life really suited the prompt, too, and making a non-angsty creation with that prompt was not easy!
Pretend this was a week ago and I'm not actually this lame and far behind.
