I know! It's like, "Oh, you're telling me I might have been basically a completely different person? Why is this not a big deal to anyone else?!"
I waffle back and forth between liking my name and not - I mostly like it, but I also constantly consider pseudonyms for when I finally end up getting published because "Sean Callahan" just doesn't sound like an author's name to me for some reason. Other people have said that they like it and think it sounds very cool and Irish, but I imagine a novel with my real name on the cover and I'm just like, "Meh." I did decide that when I am submitting things for publication, I'll just use my real name, but I still haven't quite gotten over the fact that it doesn't sound "cool."
