A Hazy Black Ring

This one is crushing! The last paragraphs, in particular, seem to capture both the poignancy and the numbness of grief/shock. I do want to know more about this little slice of your future world - for instance, there's hunting groups and subsistence farming, but also a co-op, so while society seems to have gone downhill, it seems people are still clinging together in small social groups and trying to make the best of it.
