Thank you! I know some people are looking for the prompt when they're considering voting, and... well, I try not to focus on getting votes, but I want to stay in, so I wanted to make sure people that are using that criteria were able to find the inspiration.

I'm so glad you picked up on the last line for what I intended it to be. I wasn't sure if it was too subtle, with the mention of four slices, putting a point on the fact that there wouldn't be any meat, and bringing attention to the butter that the wife had been the one to supply.

I really enjoy doing this, writing what could be just an everyday story from our current world and just shifting things enough to make it a little freaky. :D
